History of the Cottage
105 years ago 3 school teachers from New York City had this cottage built for them to enjoy during their summer breaks. The cottage was constructed from the cedar trees that were on this property and the cottage was positioned for lake views and privacy. Each year, the three friends would arrive and spend their summers at Mist Bay enjoying the peace, quiet and the ever changing beauty of Lake Champlain much the same way that we enjoy it today.
Little has changed over the years; there are still old cedars surrounding the property, the lawn is carpeted with thick fragrant wild thyme, and the cottage still retains the century old charm on this two acre private and secluded site.
This quintessential turn of the century New England cottage has a large wrap-around screened-in porch, three upstairs bedrooms (two facing the lake), and an open floor plan downstairs. The yard is perfect for croquet, horse shoes, a barbeque, and /or just to sit and relax watching the sunsets and the ever changing drama of the lake.
If you are looking for a busy get-away vacation with all the modern conveniences (microwaves, TV’s, computers) forget Misty Bay. Relax, step back in time, to a more peaceful world, where everything moves a little more slowly and seems to make a lot more sense.
